Welcome to the Bucher lab |

Our lab studies small central pattern generating (CPG) networks of neurons. CPGs are found in both vertebrates and invertebrates that generate rhythmic activity for crucial behaviors like walking and breathing. They are ideal test beds for neuronal network dynamics because of their well-defined regular rhythmic output activity. They can serve as model systems to study a variety of issues relating to the basic understanding of network function and pathological conditions like spinal cord injury or neurodegenerative diseases. |
