How do I get to the Whitney Lab?

Does the Whitney Lab offer behind-the-scenes tours or animal encounters?
No, the Whitney Lab is a full-time research institute and is generally not open to the public.
How do I pay for the program?
Only checks are accepted. Please make your check out to the University of Florida.

Who can sign up for field trips?
Field trips are open to all public and private schools.
Our group is larger than the maximum number of students, what should we do?
You will need to split your group into two classes on two separate dates.
What is the field trip cancellation policy?
At this time we do not have a cancellation fee but we ask for a three week notice.
What are the contents of the confirmation packet?
Your emailed confirmation packet will contain your approved dates, letter containing important information about the program and an invoice.
What if I bring a different number of students than on the invoice?
You will only be charged for the number of students you bring, and your invoice will be adjusted.
Where do we meet our instructor when we arrive at the Whitney Lab?
Look at the Whitney campus map and bring your students into the front door of the two story building marked as the Center for Marine Studies (CMS).
Where do busses park?
Busses may park in the area south of the CMS. See map of Whitney Lab campus.
What are our lunch options?
For Day at the Whitney Lab – bring a sack lunch. The students will get a 20 minute lunch break.
What if we bring more than the recommended number of chaperones?
Only one chaperone per six students are allowed in the education room, the extras must wait elsewhere.
I am a teacher. Do I get in for free?
Yes! Educators are admitted free of charge.
