Give to the Whitney Laboratory
Thank you for your interest in making a gift to the Whitney Laboratory for Marine Bioscience at the University of Florida.
We are deeply appreciative of your continued philanthropic support, as donations are critical in filling the gap between research awards and state funding to continue education and discovery.

WHY GIVE TO THE WHITNEY LAB?
Your investment in the Whitney Laboratory is an investment in the students and faculty who live, learn and work here today and in future scientists whose scientific curiosity was sparked here.
The countless scientific discoveries, medical breakthroughs and advances in basic biological science inspired by the experience of the Whitney Laboratory touch our friends and neighbors everywhere. The experimental biologists of tomorrow will be shaped by the impact of your gift. As we build on understanding of ocean health and conservation your support is key.
AREAS OF SUPPORT
WHITNEY GIFT FUND (#003567)
This is a general fund that provides for the day to day operations of the Laboratory.
Its funds have been used to support travel for students, bringing lecturers for the Evenings at Whitney Lecture Series, minor acquisitions and fund raising activities and events.
This is the most flexible of the funds and, consequently, is very important to the overall activities of the Laboratory.
EDUCATION FUND (#005161)
The Education Fund supports the Laboratory’s outreach education programs to local schools and our community and allows us to educate over 5,500 K-12 students in eight counties with hands on science learning. Of these students, 42% are Title 1 Underserved School Children.
SEA TURTLE RESEARCH AND REHABILITATION FUND (#018737)
This fund supports Whitney Lab’s operations of the rehabilitation and research facility for Sea Turtles impacted by fibropapilloma in the North Florida region.
CAPITAL CAMPAIGN / WHITNEY RESEARCH VILLAGE (#020575)
The Whitney Laboratory campus is growing and much of this growth has and will be made possible through contributions to our Capital Fund. A new capital campaign for The Center for Marine Animal Health and a new Whitney Research Village is currently underway.
Donations to this fund may be eligible for a one-for-one match by the state of Florida.
