Congratulations to Professor of Biology Dr. James Liao for being awarded a research grant from the National Institutes of Health National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD). The award is entitled 'Understanding the role of Tmc proteins in hair cell mechanotransduction of zebrafish'.
Dr. Liao is collaborating with colleagues at Case Western, University of Washington, and National Institutes of Health to understand the role that important proteins play in how humans, fish and other vertebrates maintain healthy hearing and balance.
