Please welcome Carrie Foelber Holmes to the Whitney Laboratory!
Carrie holds undergraduate degrees in Biochemistry as well as Visual Art. She will be supporting Dr. Martindale’s lab as a research technician, studying biomineralization with Nematostella vectensis sp. as hosts. In addition to working at Whitney, she also teaches yoga, breathwork, and meditation. Her initial research centered on perceived motivation to exercise, examining internal factors, such as fluctuating gonadal hormones, as well as induced influencers, like Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS). Subsequently, the last year of her biochemistry studies shifted her curiosity away from a behavioral filter toward a biochemical focus as she became captivated with proteomics. Outside of research, Carrie enjoys a tough workout, sustained silent reading, and playing M&M poker with her three boys.
