Whitney Laboratory Distinguished Professor of Neuroscience, Genetics, Biology and Chemistry Dr. Leonid Moroz was interviewed and provided expertise for the NY Times science article about the far-reaching importance of ctenophore research for biomedicine. 

“They are the aliens of the sea,” with neural and muscular systems evolved independently from the rest of animals, stressed Leonid Moroz, a neuroscientist at the lab. And talking about unique opportunities to make chimeric animals, he added : “It opens a Pandora’s box — a good Pandora’s box”.
