Please welcome J’nesse Balkman to the Whitney Laboratory. J’nesse Balkman is a PhD student in the Duffy Lab. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology and Ecology from the University of Miami in 2025. Her research focuses on the physiological effects of the marine environment on sea turtles, particularly the origins, impacts, and treatment of fibropapillomatosis (FP) in green sea turtles.
Outside of the field and laboratory, J’nesse enjoys spending time at the beach, watching movies, and spending time with her family, friends, and her elderly dog, Titan.
