The Whitney Laboratory for Marine Bioscience
Welcome to our newest team member, Morgan Flanagan! She’s a familiar face at the Sea Turtle Hospital as she’s been volunteering in the hospital's husbandry department since early spring 2023. She now joins the Sea Turtle Hospital team as the fall intern.
Morgan received her Bachelors of Science in Marine Biology from the University of South Florida. After graduating she took a seasonal position as a Marine Educator at Marineland Dolphin Adventure. It was during her time as an educator that she learned more about marine mammal husbandry and wanted to explore more options.
While working at the Dolphin Adventure she starting volunteering in our husbandry department and grew to have a keen interest in marine animal medicine. Morgan is excited to work more closely with our Animal Care team to learn more of the medical side of sea turtle rehabilitation. She is unsure at the moment if she’ll apply to veterinary school or graduate school for environmental ecology in the future.
