Welcome to our newest team member winter intern, Gracie Harris! Gracie is a St. Augustine native who discovered her love for the ocean very early in life. While in high school, she started working at the St. Augustine Aquarium. There she worked with invertebrates, fish, rays, and sharks. She recently graduated from the University of North Florida with a degree in Marine and Coastal Biology. During the summer of her freshman year, she joined the Flagler county sea turtle patrol where she was able to monitor her home beach for new sea turtle nests. While in college, she also participated in the UNF shark tagging program led by Dr. Gelsleichter and alligator surveying with Dr. Rosenblatt. Gracie joined our team as a volunteer in the summer of 2022 and is very excited to join us as the 2024 winter cold stun intern.
