Whitney trained docents bring a collection of marine invertebrates to local schools for a hands-on science learning experience.
Students are introduced to marine biology by exploring how the animals breathe, find and eat food, protect themselves and generally survive in their environment.
Grades: K-3
Dates: Tuesdays and Thursdays, September through May
Class Requirements: 2-3 classes per school visit, 24 students per class maximum
Cost: $50 per class
The Traveling Marine Zoo can visit schools within a 45 minute drive from the Whitney Laboratory.
