The first few stations of the Discovery Walk will return (along with the Whitney pond!) once construction of the Marine Research Institute and Sea Turtle Hospital Research and Hospital is complete in 2025.

Enjoy a Scenic and Educational Walk

At Whitney Laboratory's Discovery Walk enjoy a scenic and educational walk along the lab's shoreline as you visit several information stations. The walk begins at the “Whitney Pond” – where you’ll find out who calls our sea-lab home. From there follow the signs to find out more about Oysters, the Matanzas Estuary, Biodiversity in the Matanzas Basin, Conservation, Science and Discovery at the Whitney Lab and Conservation of Sea Turtles.

Along the path notice the many plants and animals that make up this natural community. You never know what you’ll discover! Thank you to those who supported the walk!
