Bailey-Niblett Family Endowment Helps Fund Trip to Cell and Developmental Biology Conference

The Bailey-Niblett Family Endowment recently helped fund Lucas Guttieres' trip to the conference “From Cells to Organism: When Cell Biology Meets Development” in Paris, France.

The conference gathered scientists, mostly from Europe, to explore the fields of cell biology and developmental biology in a multi-scale dimension.

“The presentations were of a high scientific quality, and I was able to learn about new study organisms as well as new techniques in molecular and cellular biology," said Lucas. "I was able to present the progress of my PhD project and the people who stopped by my poster showed great interest in my presentation and were amazed by the beauty of ctenophores. This conference was also a bit emotional, as it was taking place in my home country, and more specifically in the university where I obtained my master's degree in marine biology three years ago. I would like to thank the Bailey-Niblett family for their support in this fantastic opportunity.”

Lucas Guttieres is a Ph.D. student in the Whitney Laboratory Martindale Lab. The Bailey-Niblett Family Endowment assists in funding for research projects and travel for graduate students, postdoctoral research associates and pre-tenured faculty at the Whitney Laboratory.
