Travel Awards Help Fund Trip to International Congress on Natural Products Research

Congratulations to Erin Marshall for receiving travel awards to fund her recent trip to the International Congress on Natural Products Research in Krakow, Poland. Erin received the 2024 American Society of Pharmacognosy (ASP) Kenneth Rinehart Jr. travel award, UF GSC travel award and funding support from the Bailey-Niblett Family Endowment to attend and represent the Whitney Laboratory.

The International Congress on Natural Products Research brought together experts and researchers from all over the world to share their latest findings and discuss the latest developments in the field of natural products research.

"This conference encompasses natural product research societies world-wide, including some societies for the first time," said Erin. "Here I attended sessions on the diverse research scope of natural product chemists; from historically used herbal medicine research, deep-sea abyssal microbial investigation, coral preservation, in-depth analyses of the microbiome of frogs in Brazil, and much more. I was able to expand my current professional network to include post-docs and faculty members from other countries. This experience was highly enriching and will hopefully aid in my upcoming search for post-graduate positions."

Erin Marshall is a Ph.D. student in the Whitney Laboratory Loesgen Lab.
