The Bailey-Niblett Family Endowment recently helped fund Dr. Ishani Mukherjee's trip to the Society of Integrative and Comparative Biology (SICB) Conference.
"The annual meeting, held in Atlanta, Georgia, was my first SICB and my second conference in the US. I had the opportunity to present a 15-minute talk titled “The Impact of Predation on the Energetics of Wild Mullet Schools” which sparked several insightful questions from the audience. These questions helped me further refine my research and gain a deeper understanding of how it fits into the broader context of the field. The conference provided an excellent platform for me to engage with researchers who are leaders in my area of study, and I had invaluable opportunities to network and discuss my work."
Dr. Ishani Mukherjee is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Whitney Laboratory Liao Lab. The Bailey-Niblett Family Endowment assists in funding for research projects and travel for graduate students, postdoctoral research associates and pre-tenured faculty at the Whitney Laboratory.
