Ibarra-Castro Lab Welcomes Savannah LaMendola-Centeno

Please welcome Savannah LaMendola-Centeno to the Whitney Laboratory!

She joins the Ibarra-Castro lab as an intern assisting with broodstock operations. Savannah is a St. Augustine native with a deep love for nature. She attended St. Johns Technical High School and while there, took courses at First Coast Technical College. She discovered aquaculture through a course where she fell in love with the field and earned her aquaculture technician certificate as well as a horticultural license. She also completed an internship at Evan Fish Farm in Pierson, Florida. While there, she learned about red fish husbandry, and developed her own design for a fish farm for her favorite species, Red Drum.
