Welcome to the Sea Turtle Hospital's newest team member, fall intern Cami Bender.
Cami graduated from Wake Forest University with a major in Biology and a minor in Environmental Science. During her junior year, she studied abroad in South Caicos with the School for Field Studies, where she gained hands-on marine research and fieldwork experience that fueled her career goals. Most recently, Cami interned with the Coral Restoration Foundation in the Florida Keys, where she gained valuable skills in coral restoration practices, scientific diving, and educational outreach. Now, she’s excited to switch things up and dive into sea turtle medicine and rehabilitation during this washback season.
