Dear Researchers from UF, Flagler College, UCF, UNF, and beyond,

We are thrilled to announce the 8th annual Science by the Shore Symposium, hosted by the graduate students at the University of Florida’s Whitney Laboratory for Marine Bioscience! We invite you to join us on Saturday, September 14th, for a day filled with scientific exploration and networking opportunities.

Event Highlights:
  • Who's Invited: Undergraduates, graduate students, post-docs, and all trainee-level scientists from *diverse* scientific disciplines from *any* nearby research institute!
  • What's Happening: Hear from a distinguished keynote speaker (stay tuned for the announcement) to kick off the day of science! Engage in your preferred presentation style to showcase your work while immersing yourself in the fascinating science presented by your peers. Choose from:
    • Regular Talks: 8 minutes + 2 minutes Q&A (Talk Presentation Spots are Now Full!)
    • Lightning Talks: 3 minutes + 2 minutes Q&A
    • Posters: Dimensions 46x46
  • Beyond the Science: Enjoy the serene St. Augustine Beach, Matanzas river estuary, complimentary UF Sea Turtle Hospital tour, and UF’s marine satellite research station. Participate in networking activities and savor breakfast, lunch, and dinner – all included in the $30 registration fee as well as hear from an awesome keynote speaker!
  • (Optional) Competitions: Compete in each presentation category for recognition and a cash prize!
Schedule
  • Breakfast and registration opens at 9:00 AM
  • Keynote speaker presentation and Talks/Presentations, with breaks and lunch, begin from 10:00 AM - 4:30 PM
  • Preferred activities in the 2-hour break from 4:30-6:30 PM
  • Dinner and Awards Ceremony from 6:30-7:30 PM
