Whitney Laboratory is pleased to announce that Anne Marie Moquin has joined its Board of Trustees.

Anne Marie Moquin is the Founder/Executive Director of Beaches Go Green.  A lifelong nature lover turned environmental warrior, Moquin grew up in Michigan however she has been a resident of FL since 2000.  She resides in Atlantic Beach, FL along with her husband, Kirk, and 2 sons, Maximus & Kingston.  Anne Marie is a graduate of the University of Michigan where she studied Psychology.

After watching the documentary, A Plastic Ocean, and observing the overuse of single-use plastics and plastic waste in our community, Anne Marie decided that there was a great need for more environmental education.  She established Beaches Go Green (BGG) in June of 2018 with the goal of providing education and awareness.  BGG focuses on the waste that we produce and how it impacts our planet, particularly plastic pollution and our oceans.  Through Beaches Go Green,  Anne Marie is sparking environmental change through strategic partnerships, speaking engagements and school clubs.  In addition, BGG boasts an award winning single-use plastic art installation, The Beaches Go Green Octopus Garden at Deck the Chairs in Jacksonville Beach.

Moquin is on the board of Beaches Go Green and also serves on the board of the Beaches Town Center Agency since 2018.  She is an avid supporter of the Jacksonville Humane Society and First Coast Blessings in a Backpack.

The Whitney Laboratory Board of Trustees provides advice and assistance to the Lab in the areas of fund raising, advocacy and marketing helping to further the Lab’s mission of scientific research, education & training.
