Please welcome Dani Hayes to the Whitney Laboratory. Dani is a recent graduate of our very own University of Florida, receiving her B.A. in Statistics with a minor in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation in 2020. Throughout undergrad, she conducted research in the molecular laboratory of the Herpetology Department at the Florida Museum of Natural History, under the tutelage of PhD candidate Greg Jongsma.

Dani is working as a post-baccalaureate researcher in the Ryan Laboratory and is applying to Ph.D. programs for Fall 2021. She is broadly interested in phylogenetics and bioinformatics. She looks forward to learning new computational techniques while working in the Ryan Lab. In her free time, Dani enjoys jigsaw puzzles, quilting, reading, and hiking.
