Dr. Elaine Seaver has New Paper in Canadian Journal of Zoology

Published: Wednesday, September 6, 2017

Congratulations to Dr. Elaine Seaver, who has a new paper published online in the “Canadian Journal of Zoology.” The paper is a review that arose from an invitation for Dr. Seaver to speak at a symposium called “Spineless tales: development and evolution of invertebrates” co-sponsored by the Canadian Society of Zoologists and Canadian Science Publishing. The symposium was held at the annual meeting of the Canadian Society of Zoologists at Western University, London, Ontario in May 2016.

In Dr. Seaver’s talk at the conference (and in the review), she discussed her lab’s findings on a current, National Science Foundation-funded project on early embryogenesis in the marine worm Capitella teleta. The review also puts forth a new model to provide an evolutionary perspective on changes in early development patterns in different animals.
