Please welcome Chris Nolte to the Whitney Laboratory and Dr. David Duffy's lab.
Chris completed his undergraduate, honors, and master's degrees at Nelson Mandela University in South Africa. Currently, he is pursuing his Ph.D. in the UF Biology department, working under the guidance of Dr. Hannah Vander Zanden. His research focuses on leatherback sea turtles, employing a multi-disciplinary approach that integrates genetics, stable isotopes, and distribution modeling. While at Whitney Laboratory, Chris will collaborate with Dr. Dave Duffy, studying the population genetics of Hawksbill sea turtles in Florida.
Outside of academia, Chris enjoys playing soccer, running, and spending as much time as possible at the beach.
