David Mallett will perform at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 20 at Lohman Auditorium at Whitney Lab as part of the Gamble Rogers Concert Series. Larry Magnum will open the concert. Tickets are available at www.gamblerogersfest.org.

Singer-songwriter David Mallett, is one of America’s true original troubadours. In a career spanning four decades, he has recorded 14 albums, had several hundred covers of his songs, including the American folk classic Garden Song [Inch by Inch, Row by Row] and performed in clubs, concert halls and festivals across the United States, Canada and Europe.

He has appeared on numerous broadcasts, including National Public Radio’s A Prairie Home Companion. Known for his carefully written, poetic offerings, his body of work has provided material for an eclectic list of artists that includes Alison Krauss, Pete Seeger, Hal Ketchum, Emmylou Harris, John Denver and the Muppets.

Doors will open at 6 p.m., and the music will begin at 7 p.m. at Lohman Auditorium, located behind the Whitney Lab, 9505 Ocean Shore Blvd. General admission seating begins at 6:30 p.m.

Larry Mangum will open the concert. Larry makes regular appearances at the Florida Folk Festival, Will McLean Festival, South Florida Folk Festival, Sarasota Folk Festival, Gamble Rogers Folk Festival, Barberville, Lake County Folk Festival, Riverhawk and many more. He is also host and co-founder of THE SONGWRITERS’ CIRCLE in Jacksonville, a monthly program featuring many of the best regional and national touring acts. Larry’s concert appearances with music legends include the late Waylon Jennings, Roger McGuinn, David Mallett, The Texas Playboys, Billy Joe Shaver, Vassar Clements, Ray Price, Martina McBride, Juice Newton, Steve Young, Gene Watson, T.G. Sheppard, T. Graham Brown, Alabama and many more.

Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door.
