Please welcome Grayce Dyer to the Whitney Laboratory! Grayce joins the Loesgen Lab to explore the chemistry of marine organisms for their biomedical potential as she pursues her Ph.D. in Chemical Biology.

Grayce earned her B.S. in Marine Science and Biology from the University of Tampa. After graduating, she moved to Ecuador, where she studied humpback whale migrations. She spent the last four years working in Dr. Eduardo Caro’s marine natural products lab at the University of Puerto Rico. Here she studied marine cyanobacteria - helping to build up the lab’s collection library and heading the genetic sequencing effort. While in PR, she also taught SCUBA and snorkeling lessons. She is excited to continue research in natural products chemistry during her time at Whitney.

Outside the lab, Grayce spends most of her time in the ocean - diving, swimming, and surfing.
