New Walkway on Whitney Laboratory Campus

There’s a new walkway on the Whitney Laboratory campus that now connects the lab building, Sea Turtle Hospital buildings and Center for Marine Studies (CMS) building. It provides easy accessibility for all. The new walkway is made from recycled plastic and is eco-friendly as well as ADA approved.

More than 1,000 recycled plastic water bottles went into the construction of the walkway. The mat is a firm, smooth surface that remains cool to the touch. It is permeable, so water and sand can pass through it, and it won't sink into the sand. It's also made in the United States.
