Please welcome Jon Rueben to the Whitney Laboratory! He recently joined the Osborne and Ibarra-Castro Labs as a Biological Scientist. Jon will be joining the Osborne lab working to design and build a new algae lab and larval clam (Mercenaria mercenaria) hatchery in order to provide larvae for the restoration of local ecosystems like the Indian River.

Jon received his bachelor's degree in business from Eckerd College and his master's degree in aquaculture from the University of Miami. After graduating, he worked as a biologist in the Pacific Northwest for a large oyster hatchery before returning to Florida to work with clams and shrimp.
