Please welcome Sean Westley to the Whitney Laboratory! He recently joined the Osborne Lab as a Research Technician.
Sean received his B.S. from Western Michigan University, where he studied biology, chemistry, geology, and physics. Sean held a position at the university working in aquaculture and sustainability research. Sean held positions in government work, private firm consulting, and academia before going back to graduate school. Sean received his master’s in applied ecology from Michigan Technological University. While at MTU Sean’s master’s research was to build one of the first forested wetland systems on reclaimed mining spoils. After finishing his master’s degree, he stayed on as the lab manager/research technician in order to create several restoration projects. Joining the Osborne lab, Sean hopes to use the biogeochemistry of wetland ecosystems to produce novel research ideas.
