Registration is now open for the 2021 Whitney Laboratory Fun with Plankton Summer Day Camp and Sea Turtle Summer Camp!
Whitney camp instructors and participants will follow current CDC COVID-19 guidelines during all summer education programs, including mask wearing and social distancing if needed.
Students entering 5th, 6th or 7th grade in fall 2021 will learn to use the binocular microscope and all about plankton. They will build their own plankton net, collect plankton from the estuary, view under microscope, and learn how to identify different types of plankton. Students will also collect various organisms off the boat dock that are considered plankton in their larval stage, view under the microscope and discuss their role in the estuary.
Students entering 4th or 5th grade fall 2021 will learn about sea turtle biology and conservation and have the opportunity to interact with sea turtles every day.
