The Ryan Lab at Whitney Laboratory observed 2018 Darwin Week last week for the fourth straight year by going out and visiting area schools. The group visited Pedro Menendez High School, Gamble Rogers Middle School and Darnell-Cookman Middle/High School, speaking with 125 students in the process. The team talked about the life and research of evolutionary biologist Rosemary Grant and presented data on horizontal gene transfer and the animal tree of life.
