Steven Longmire Joins the Liao Lab

Please welcome Steven Longmire to Whitney Laboratory! He recently joined Dr. James Liao's lab as Lab Manager.

Steven was born and raised on Florida’s Space Coast where his interests in coastal ecology and conservation were founded. He received a B.S. in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation from the University of Florida in 2018 where he worked during his undergrad and beyond as a field/lab technician for the Lone Cabbage Reef restoration on the Nature Coast. Steven joined the Liao Lab in June 2021 as lab manager and project lead for an acoustic telemetry project studying redfish behavior ecology in Northeast Florida. He has many interests including ethnobotany, mycology, educational outreach, photography, surfboard design, and gardening.
