Taryn Chaya Joins the Osborne Lab

Please welcome Taryn Chaya to Whitney Laboratory! Taryn recently joined Dr. Todd Osborne’s lab, working on a master’s degree in Interdisciplinary Ecology. She will be working on the iCoast project, maintaining the advanced water sensors in the intracoastal, while collecting and analyzing the ensuing data. 

Born in Jacksonville, Florida, Taryn recently graduated from Flagler College with a bachelor’s degree in Coastal Environmental Science. While at Flagler College, she analyzed sediment cores taken from behind constructed oyster reefs to assess their ability to prevent erosion following two hurricanes. Taryn hopes to concentrate in wetland sciences, particularly their biogeochemistry.
