Join us for our December Webinar! Dr. Sandra Loesgen will share the interesting origins of some of our current health care pharmaceuticals, and why her lab focuses on microscopic organisms, or microbes for drug discovery. We will then take a global journey with Dr. Loesgen to discover where the microbes they work with are found, along with their chemistry and how they could help human health

Drink Recipe - Make Your Own Mango Banana Smoothie with Kombucha!

1 banana, frozen
½ cup frozen mango
1 cup Kombucha, any flavor
1 cup Yogurt or Plain Greek Yogurt

Puree ingredients in a blender until smooth. Enjoy immediately.

Sandra Loesgen graduated summa cum laude with a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry and Pharmacology from Georg-August Universität Göttingen, Germany, in 2007. She was DFG supported postdoctoral fellow in Dr. Bill Fenical’s Lab at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UCSD and her postdoctoral research continued in the lab of Dr. Carole Bewley at the National Institute of Health. From 2013-2019, she was Assistant Professor at Oregon State University. Since September 2019, she is an Associate Professor of Chemistry at the Whitney Laboratory for Marine Bioscience, and part of the Chemistry Department at UF.
