Please welcome Mike Ramia to Whitney Laboratory! He recently joined the facilities team as a maintenance professional.
Mike was born and raised in Connecticut. Like most kids growing up in New England, his hobbies included snowboarding, hiking, riding dirtbikes, or exploring the rocky coastline. By the time he was in high school, he had learned his way around a garage tinkering on projects and helping his father. After high school, he started an 8-year career at Sikorky Aircraft in Connecticut working on the S76 and S92 commercial aircraft and the more well-known Blackhawk helicopter. After relocating to Florida in 2009 his mechanical skills found him assisting with the start-up of an online aircraft, motorcycle, ATV, salvage business located in Hastings, FL. While continuing a strong relationship with the online salvage business, he accepted a two-year contract position at Northrop Grumman as a maintenance mechanic. Today he is excited to join the Whitney Lab maintenance department and mix his love for the outdoors and utilize and expand his skill set.
