Driving for Turtles - New Sea Turtle Stranding and Transport Van

Published: Monday, October 12, 2020

Every year we care for over 70 injured sea turtles in the Sea Turtle Hospital. Due to lack of space for so many turtles, we do triage those less injured to other locations in Florida after we provide initial medical assessment and treatment. That way we can focus on those with diseases and urgent needs.

We are so excited for the funding awarded from the Sea Turtle Grants Program this year to purchase our spiffy new Sea Turtle Stranding and Transport Van. The van helps us with turtle transport, triage, and standings. We are very grateful for this year's grant from the Sea Turtle Grants Program. That cute turtle plate you see around Florida helps programs like ours through a competitive grants process.
