This summer the Bailey-Niblett Family Endowment helped fund a graduate student trip to the European Evolutionary Biology Meeting (EuroEvoDevo) in Napoli, Italy from May 31-June 3.

Justin Waletich, PhD Candidate in the Schnitzler Lab, attended the meeting where he was able to see talks and posters in topics that included genetic, evolutionary, developmental, and physiological processes in plants and animals.

He was provided with the opportunity to present and receive feedback on his dissertation research for his PhD, as well as network with potential collaborators and future post-doc mentors, both of which are important for his growth as a junior scientist.

"I have come back with new knowledge and project ideas, with more excitement and motivation to continue my research then before I had left for Napoli", said Justin.

Thank you to the Bailey-Niblett Family Endowment for providing funding for this opportunity!
