Bailey-Niblett Family Endowment helps fund trip to RNA Symposium at UF Scripps Institute

Published: Tuesday, January 31, 2023

This January the Bailey-Niblett Family Endowment helped fund a Whitney Postdoctoral Research Associate's trip to the symposium “RNA: From Biology to Drug Discovery” held at The Herbert Wertheim UF Scripps Institute for Biomedical Innovation & Technology. RNA molecules are increasingly being recognized to play roles in various diseases and cancers.

Jingwei Song, Ph.D., a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Schnitzler Lab investigating stem cell heterogeneity in Hydractinia, attended the symposium. Dr. Song learned the latest advances in RNA research from influential researchers including six Howard Hughes Medical Investigators and the president-elect of Germany’s Max Planck Society, RNA structure expert Patrick Cramer, Ph.D. The symposium was also an opportunity for networking.

The Bailey-Niblett Family Endowment assists in funding for research projects and travel for graduate students, postdoctoral research associates and pre-tenured faculty at the Whitney Laboratory.

Thank you to the Bailey-Niblett Family Endowment for providing funding for this opportunity!
