The Whitney Laboratory for Marine Bioscience
Please welcome Katie Feerst to Whitney Laboratory! She recently joined Dr. Elaine Seaver's lab as a lab technician. Katie received her B.S. from the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) focusing on evolutionary biology. Her past research experience includes behavioral genetics in Drosophila, experimental evolution simulation using data from C. elegans, and species description in Sabellid worms. Polychaetes are some of her favorite animals and she looks forward to studying germline evolution and other aspects of development in these spiralians. In the future, she plans to re-apply to UF and continue to study Spiralian evolution for her Ph.D.
