The Whitney Laboratory for Marine Bioscience
Please welcome Lauren Kunselman to Whitney Laboratory! She recently joined Dr. Elaine Seaver's lab as a graduate student.
Lauren received her B.S. in marine science and a minor in neuroscience from the University of South Carolina. She is interested in using marine organisms as models to understand the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying nervous system regeneration and development. As an undergraduate she studied the visual nervous system of the Florida fighting conch which have surprisingly complex eyes that are capable of regeneration. Lauren looks forward to studying regeneration in more depth in the marine worm Capitella teleta as she completes her PhD under the mentorship of Dr. Elaine Seaver.
