Lucas completed his bachelor's degree in Earth and Life Sciences at the Southern Brittany University with notably an internship in Nepal to help in the preservation of the snow leopard. Lucas pursued a master's degree in Marine Biology and Bioresources at Sorbonne University (Paris). Following his interests in developmental biology and evolutionary development in marine organisms, Lucas did his master’s thesis internship on the beta-catenin nuclear translocation in sea squirts (ascidians), a sister group of Vertebrates.

Lucas joins Dr. Martindale’s Lab to pursue his marine biology training by studying one of the earliest branching animals - ctenophores. Lucas loves hiking and is a huge soccer fan.
