Alicia received her BS in Genetics and Biotechnology from Brigham Young University in Utah. For two years she identified subspecies of sagebrush with flow cytometry and microplate readings at the U.S. Forest Service’s Rocky Mountain Research Station. However, Alicia’s true passion was discovered on the Oregon coast when she held a Giant Pacific Octopus in her hands. She recently joined Dr. Elaine Seaver’s lab to study regeneration in Capitella teleta. Eventually, she hopes to apply the knowledge and skills she will learn about regeneration to cephalopod research.

Alicia is originally from the mountains of Nampa, Idaho, where summers were dry and winters were cold. She enjoys the outdoors (sans humidity), shoe-shopping, watching classic old movies, and spending quality time with her husband.
