Colonel's Story

Colonel's Story

Colonel arrived at our hospital on January 24 as a transfer from Volusia Marine Science Center. Colonel was found floating at the surface in Ponce Inlet (about 1.5 hours south of our hospital). Colonel was rescued and taken to Volusia Marine Science Center, which is located near Ponce Inlet. It was there that the veterinary care team identified small Fibropapilloma (FP) tumors along the inguinal and auxially region.

Volusia Marine Science Center typically does not treat animals with FP, so Colonel was transported to our hospital for continued care and to receive treatment for the FP tumors. Colonel is part of our “Disney Sidekicks” naming theme. Colonel was the cat in 101 Dalmatians.

Shortly after intake, Colonel was introduced to one of our rehab tanks and immediately dove down to the bottom of the tank and started eating seafood. We are certain this little one will be a quick turn around and able to return home soon.
