Sea Turtle Conservation Module 1

This online interactive Sea Turtle module takes you through the research process of one graduate student.  This module is divided into six distinct learning sections and designed for high school students, but any adult learner can participate. Total time for completion is approximately 1 hour. 

Goal

Explore an environmental DNA (eDNA) scientific research project including the necessary background information, methods, tools, and conclusions.  Gain insight into how information from scientific studies can improve overall animal care practices.

Learning Outcomes

After completing Module 1, students will: 

• Complete a thorough DNA review
• Follow a research process from initial question to conclusion
• Build knowledge on scientific methods and tools necessary to study DNA/genetics 
• Increase understanding of virus transmission routes
