Congratulations to Associate Professor of Chemistry Dr. Sandra Loesgen who was awarded a new three year grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) National High Magnetic Field Laboratory.
Dr. Loesgen and her lab will run experiments on high-field magnets for NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance) experiments to solve chemical structures of new drug leads.
The National High Magnetic Field Laboratory is the largest and highest-powered magnet lab in the world. Funded by the National Science Foundation and the state of Florida, each year more than 2,000 scientists come from across the globe to use their facilities at Florida State University, the University of Florida and Los Alamos National Laboratory to probe fundamental questions about materials energy and life.
